Delhi crimes is a Netflix original, Created by Riche Mehta. It consists of 7 episodes of approximately 60 minutes each. This series is actually a fictionalised version of the Brutal gangrape of an Pharmaceutical intern girl in 2012, near Munirka, South Delhi. Riche has done a great work to replicate the orginal case, only the names has been changed here. The best thing about this series is that you get connected to the case instantly, from the first scene onwards and from there, there is no turning back.
This case is taken over by DCP Vartika and the rest is how she copes up to find the culprits.

Delhi crimes is a wonderful picturisation of the heinous crime that happened in 2012. The most beautiful thing about this series is that each and every detail, that you read from wikipedia or newspaper, is shown very clearly. Let it be the heinous crime, the life of a police officer, the sacrifices, the mentality of the evil minds, the politicians, the news channels, the public and what not. All of their perspective, their emotions is taken into consideration.
Normally under such circumstances none takes the responsibility, but blames it on others. And through this webseries, the director distinctly points out what each group of people, politicians, news channels etc., gets benefited by this. And thereby creating a state of chaos all around. Meanwhile, its the victim who suffer most.

The main attraction of this webseries are the Characters. There are overall more than 20-25 characters but still it feels like those characters are infront of my eye. Every single small detail is taken into consideration and wonderfully developed for each of the character.
The main lead is DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, handling the case, Special task force officer Bhupendra singh, Sudhir Mishra and who not. Another beautiful thing done by the director is that, in the first episode itself the names, designations and the years of service of the characters have been shown, which help us to connect more with them.
The life of a police officer is not that easy as it seems, the sacrifices, the hardwork, the struggles they undergo- all have been portrayed very beautifully. This webseries clearly shows the hardwork behind catching those six culprits, responsible for the brutal rape, for which every Indians should be proud of. The courtroom trials are not shown here.
My Verdict:
1. My favourite character is Bhupender Singh. He is very loyal to his duty but also is very much concern about his daughter’s marriage. Probably in the 6th episode, he talks about this to DCP Vartika about how his daughter’s marriage gets cancelled due to his profession, you all will feel that.
2. Catching the last two culprits was difficult for them. They had to nab one from naxalite area in Jharkhand. And the way, direction and cinematography both combined, has been done, you will feel the intensity of the situation.
3. After going through all the six episodes, you feel so connected to the case that the last episode will brings tears in your eye. The scene wherein Deepika talks to the magistrate about the incident, you all will feel it.
This web series is a fine example of excellent direction and fine story telling. The director has done a superb job trying to replicate the orginal case. The life of the series, are the Characters- full of life. All the character build up starting from the constable on duty, the first day, everything is properly planned. This webseries also showcases the life of police officers- their struggles, their problems which none cares, but still they continue to serve the country with full heart. I will give 9/10 for this series.
