Khuda Hafiz (May God be with you/ Goodbye)

Khuda Hafeez is a 2020 Indian Hindi language action thriller movie directed by Faruk Kabir.

Even though this is a Vidyut’s movie wherein action plays the major part but this movie is more about emotions, togetherness and to what extent a husband can go to protect his wife. The film is set during the financial crisis of 2007-08 and it is said to be inspired from true events.

The movie is more about love, care and emotions rather than action scenes, even though there are a few well directed action scenes relating to building fight from the movie The Raid, Indonesian movie, 2011.
The movie starts with Sameer being detained and interogated in a middle east country named Noman. He agrees to share the events that led him there infront of an Indian embassy official, I.K Mishra. The Noman government reach out to him and then he narrates his story to Mishra.

Flashback starts, and he takes us back to Lucknow, where Sameer and Nargis starts to live their newly happily married life. Everything was going well but their life turns upside down due to the financial crisis in 2008 which leaves them jobless.

The most beautiful thing the director has done is picturization of this emotions, they have been presented very sensitively. After searching and applying jobs everywhere, finally Nargis gets a job offer in Noman. Both of them are very happy by this and Nargis sets to Noman for her job which will be followed by Sameer within a week.
But after she lands in Noman, Sameer receives a call from Nargis saying that she is in danger and she needs to be protected.

The rest movie is to what extent Sameer goes to rescue her? Who helps Sameer in a foreign country which have different law and order? Will he ever be able to rescue her? What actually happened to Nargis? Is she really kidnapped or her greed to earn money has lead her there? 

My Verdict:

The film is an average for me. Vidyut has obviously excelled in acting but the show stealer is Annu Kapoor, how in a very less screen space, he will keep you engage throughout. He plays the role of a Taxi driver and from the first scene he will keep you attached to the story. The music could have been much better.

I would give 6/10 as the end is quite predictable and being an action fan, I would have wanted two-three more fight scenes in it.
