Bandish Bandits is a musical web series. The concept of the show is very unique and not to forget the musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have given us a masterpiece to be proud of. Bandish Bandits consists of 10 episodes of 40-45 minutes each, this series starts with music and then take us through rollercoaster ride into emotions, drama, love failures, depression, success, fame and what not. All the actors have done a fabulous job and credit goes to the Director, Anand Tiwari.

Many a times I even forgot that they were just acting with singers singing in the background. It seemed so authentic, their hand gestures, their posture, lip sync and all.

The writers gave almost equal emphasis on all the actors and as we go along, we get to know many more secrets, the cause of fight between Bikaner and Rathore gharana and many more.

This webseries will give you a different experience that will blow your mind. I personally never felt so much love for classical music before and the legendary trio will mesmerise you with the composition. I have seen a few musical movies like Rockstar, Frozen, The Greatest Showman, A Star is born, Bohemian Rhapsody etc. but this is the first time I have experienced a musical webseries.

Talking about the sets, authenticity of the spots, cinematography: It is one of the best depiction of Rajasthan, I have seen recently. The direction, story and music will keep you engage till the end.

It is rare to see a web series created in such a beautiful way that explains our heritage,  Gharana culture, war of classical music between Sangeet samrats, a cute love story and what not.

There is feel, There is love, There is music, There is Tradition, There is modernity, There is Friendship, There is family drama…

Singers such as Javed Ali, Shankar Sir, Jonita Gandhi, Shivam Mahadevan, Armaan Malik are involved in this Masterpiece.

The story takes place in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This is the story of Rathore Gharana and Radhe the grandson of Sangeet samrat, Radhemohan Rathore.

Radhe always wanted to pursue music as career. But his teacher,  Pandit ji has his own set of beliefs. He believes that Classical music is not to be displayed or sold in any music industry. A full dedication is required for which he spent the last 25 years practicing everyday just to be perfect. Even though his family is in a lot of economical crisis, he is stiff in his beliefs. On the other hand, this web series is also about the fight of Radhe to earn respect from his teacher.

Then there is entry of Tamanna, an emerging pop singer, a Rockstar and also a youtube sensation, who lives life on her own. Then there comes a beautiful fusion of Classical and Rock music and the Chemistry between Radhe and Tamanna.

Will Radhe and Tamanna get along together?

Will disciplined Classical music ever fuse with Popo Rock music?

What is the future of this fusion?

Will the song reach the top of the charts, or become a worst idea and will flop?

How long will the Bandish Bandits band survive?

Will Radhe be able to win Pandit ji’s heart and rule the music industry or his dreams will be left shuttered?

Will he be able to save his Rathore Gharana?

Emotions and Music, How are they connected?

All these questions will be answered at the end of the show.

My Verdict:

All of us are fighting our own battle. Success comes to those who work hard on their shortcomings.

Life is not easy on anyone but this journey can obviously be made easy with proper decisions. But we must also accept the fact that there is no such thing as good or bad in decision making, first you take a decision and then work hard to make it a good one..

Music is at its best. My favorite are Labb Par Aaye, Chedkhaniya and Virah.

Dreams….

Everybody sees one!!! Everybody has one!!

But are we really working hard to achieve that, Are we suitable for it. Seeing a dream is not a mistake, but the mistake is we begin thinking about the failures, about the negatives that may happen while we dream and it strike us so hard in our head that we prevent ourself from working hard to achieve it and begin to worry unnecessarily about those failures.

GIVING UP IS NOT THE OPTION, IT SHOULD NEVER BE.

If you have the guts to see the dream, you better not give up and work hard to achieve it someday.

I am a bit disappointed with the ending, but I really do hope that Second season comes soon, but it will surely take time with the composition lyrics and preparation of the actors.

I will give 9/10 for the show.
